Learn!

Why are Christians so willing to remain dumb and stupid? Why won't they just go and spend some time and learn the facts? I just got out of a class at a christian college when the professor brought up the question of evolution and the purpose of life. I started getting sick as the Sunday school answers started flying.

"We know that evolution is false because the bible tells us so."
"God loves us and he exists because the bible tells us so."
"The bible is trustworthy because it's really old."
"Christians are here on earth to HELP God save other people."
"I'm going to college because it's a place to learn and get a degree."

Please stop or I will shurly hurl. True, The bible is true. If you believe something just because it tells you that it's true you really shouldn't be in college. Mainly because you are ignorant and are willing to remain dumb. If there is a God who has laws don't you think that there would be evidence of him? Is life all that there is? Is God is just some idea. I'm not saying that you don't need to have faith, or that you need evidence for every single thing. Come on though, the bible says "be ready to give an answer" God will give you the words to speak but he doesn't want you to remain ignorant. God gave you a brain for a reason, Please use it.

The Truth

Why is the truth so hard to tell?
Because it is dangerous and can mess up the way you wish reality to be.

Classes, Bad Dreams, and Zzzz's

Well I had a bad dream this morning. Let me describe it to you... I wake up, spend several minuites looking for my watch to see what time it is. I leasurly(sp?) walk upstairs to check the time on the oven. it states that I should have started class four minuites ago. CRAP, Flying through the shower, I come to the realization that this is not a dream! This is reality.
The good news is that I made it to class before it was over and the Prof. was really laid back about it. A little tip for those of you out there who are going to college, don't watch that 70's show till 1:00 the night before class with a bunch of hardcore rednecks.
Last night I did have a dream though. It was a good dream, but if it has meaning I am so frustrated. Maybe just a hang over from the delightful-confusion before I left.

Hello From The Mountains

It is now official I am living in N.C., up in the Mountains(O Freakin' Yea). I will trade the beach for this anyday. So far a few of the activities I have participated in are: Mountain Biking (Picture Man on Bike going down hill on a gravel/dirt road with large rocks jutting out), Hiking (My leg muscles are screaming), Red Neck Party (includes Giant slip and slide, feeding goats and huntin' dawgs, cookin' burgers and hot dawgs on an open fire, and I killed a poisones water snake that was in the fire pit), and burned out a giant Hornets nest down the hill from the house. So in other words life is really boring around here. I have met a bajillion people and life is sweet!! when classes start I may have a diffrent opinion but for now college life roxx.

How to be a Hottie

I was just on a mission trip a week ago and made a startling discovery. I made an observation while I was working on a roof with my missions team. It was about half way through the day and every one had been working really hard; then I was amazed. The Girls all of a sudden were extremely much better looking than I remembered them being in church. The make-up wasn't there, they didn't have cute clothes on or any jewelry to adorn themselves. I don't really understand it, but some how the working, the servant hearts, and the absence of frivolity suddenly made them above average. So girls, if you want a Godly guy that is what you need.

P.S. If you want to get rid of guys get a pocketbook dog, act ditsy, and don't ever do any work or get dirty.

Music

What is Good Music? How would one define Good Music? Is it complex melodies and harmonies? Is it simple tunes that stick in your head? Is Good music always fun to play? Is Good music always a top seller? Here is what I think Good music is. Good Music is based on the individual and their musical taste. It is a good reflection of who they are as a person. Music is the most accurate way that God has given us to express emotions. Music therefore is extremely personal and yet, because everyone feels the same basic emotions, is important to everyone. So if an individual who has musical talent can create music that is the emotion of the masses, the masses will desire the music and pay for the music. This will make the talented musician rich. Is the music better though if the emotions it communicates are more focused and exact? It will be appealing to a smaller group of individules, but they will embrace the music tighter because of its perfect expression. Comments Please!!!

--I'm an Idiot!--

Knock Knock

Who's there?

Howard.

Howard Who?

I'm good, Howard you?

The wheels keep on turnin'

Last night's bible study really started generating cerebrum motion. Not only was I processing the lesson but this thought also kept bouncing around: What is the purpose of Bible study's and sermons? The bible calls it teaching, but when you teach someone something you want it to stay. This is my theory, Sermons should not just be info that is being taught. I think that they should stir people up and they should have to think about it. If some one sits for fourty-five minuites just taking in info that they immediatly accept; What will keep them from accepting alternate info later on a.k.a too stupid to think on your own. My point is if a sermon causes someone to think they eventually will come to a conclusion or belief, if the individual has taken the time to think on and study the problem they are less likley to sporadically jump to diffrent conclusions and explinations, creating a stronger beleiver.

I Wish Every Day Was Wednesday

Yesterday I was conversing with Bobby D. He made the comment that Wednesday was his favorite day of the week because of FireHouse. This has started me thinking, Wednesday used to be my favorite day of the week, what happened? I do still enjoy FireHouse and my rating for Wednesday does go up; But, If I had to pick a day that was the best day of the week I wouldn't be able to pick a day. I guess all the things that I enjoy have been spread through out the week. Making for an all around good week!

Life (Take 2)

I find Life enjoyable today. Not that today has been perfect or that my life is perfect. The ups downs and all arounds are just a whole lot'a fun!! It is fun because you don't know where it will take you or what is going to happen next. Life is fun because you are alive and you get to meet people and experience there lives as well. My life is much better than any soap, sitcom, reality show, educational show, or drama. My life is more like all the best elements wraped up into one with 3D vision, surround sound, hands on experiences, and even smellovision [some times this is bad(like around mark)]. End product=I win!

The little AWSOME things in life

I am purchasing a $15 knob for my guitar. I know that most viewers of my blog are probably casual browsers and don't care (my friends probably don't either) but this switch knob (when installed) will give me two more sounds while playing, YES!!! the way that this works is...

I have 3 Pickups configured like this...

Neck ---------

Middle ---------

Bridge ---------

right now the combinations that I have are
Neck;
Neck+Middle;
Middle;
Middle+Bridge,
and Bridge.

with the new knob I can also have Neck+bridge (the classic tele rythem sound) and Neck+Middle+Bridge (all three) Yes!!!! Life just got Way Way Better!!!

Spring Break

This spring break I went on a trip with the youth group to Southwind (a young life camp). While at camp I finally relized what God has been trying to teach me for the past year or so... Be cheerful and willing to serve where God has you now. Don't sit around dreaming of how God will use you in the future. God may put you in a place where you aren't using the skills that you want to use for him. But, He will give you the skills that are necessary for where he has placed you. Cheer up! Enjoy this time that God has gifted you with. Be willing to serve NOW where He has you and He will accomplish incomprehensible feats while you are there watching.

; ) Serve Cheerfully !!!

Life (Take 1)

Life- get up, take a shower, drive to school or work, eating on the way; always listening to music. My life is mundane. I am always thinking about work, school, music, church, or chilling out. Life never seems to vary; it stays the same. Why then do I enjoy this life that I love so much? I always wear about the same things, always eat about the same things, and always do the same things. What is it about this constant daily cycle?
I love a set life because it is routine, it is safe, I know what I am doing. Why should I do something unusual when I can have fun right here? I do sporadic things every once and a while. Kayaking, camping, going to the beach, though they are sporadic they are not very risky. There is no danger involved; I have nothing to lose. I think I will start today off willing to take more risks and be more adventurous.

Why "The Blab Blah"

I named my blog "The Blab Blah" because it's probably what I will be doing, blabing electronicly.
